In this post, I will explain to you a new lesson on how to recognize use reduced adverb clauses in multiple clauses. I will show you that I'm going to make use of my grammar and vocabulary knowledge. As a matter of fact, you can get a high score or improve your previous score by doing these strategies. If you only know how to recognize particular grammar, it will be difficult for you to do synonym kinds of questions. While we are preparing for TOEFL test, it's better for you to build your vocabulary as well. So, let's get started with our lesson about adverb clauses but in a reduced form.

Dapat kalian lihat di sini, untuk pertanyaan kedua ini, kita memiliki adverb connector when yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan satu klausa dengan klausa lainnya. Dan dapat kalian perhatikan juga bahwa, independent clause-nya telah memiliki struktur yang utuh, subjek Canadian geese dan kata kerja to be are. Namun, struktur adverb clausenya masih belum lengkap, kita hanya memiliki adverb connector dan object atau pelengkap dari kata kerja build nantinya.
Menurut kalian opsi manakah yang paling tepat untuk melengkapi kalimat rumpang tersebut.
Jika kalian
memilih opsi A kata kerja build
dengan akhiran -ing, building, kalian telah memilih jawaban yang tepat. Dan
kalian bisa lihat di sisi sebelahnya, mengapa kata kerja building menjadi
opsi yang paling tepat.
Jika kalian mencoba membuat versi lengkap dari kalimat kompleks tersebut, sesungguhnya kalimat tersebut berbunyi: When Canadian geese build nests during spring nesting season, they are fiercely territorial. Karena kata kerja pada adverb clause tersebut memiliki makna aktif maka kalian bisa menggunakan kata kerja berakhiran -ing untuk versi pendek dari adverb clause tersebut.
