EFL No Props Freer Practice - Race (the whiteboard)

In this freer practice, students won’t be only introduced to new vobaluaries, but also given listening practice. The listening practice is important, especially for children levels, as they follow how the teacher pronoumces English words.

There are no special rules to use the game. The game is best used for larger groups. Divide students into two groups. Every student will have their turn to circle a word said by the teacher. The other members may help the student whom has got his/her turn, so that the student who has lower skill is not embarrassed when s/he makes mistakes.

You can also use the game to similar language practice, such as: so... and neither... expressions, as can be seen in Picture 2. You can have a race on the whiteboard or paper. It will be a challenging activity as students should effectively use the expression to get points.
