EFL Grammar Freer Practice - UNO Stacko
Here is a fun evaluation game that you can use as a warmer (to review previous lessons) or as a filler (in the end of the meeting). This game is especially good for grammar practices, for any students levels, so that students can learn to use grammar effectively.
What you need are a few props, in this occasion, there are UNO STACKO and some false expressions written on the small piece of papers. You use the basic rules of the game with a few special rules to determine the only winner.
Picture 1: Prepare the STACKO and the question cards on the table or on the floor
Here are the additional rules that you need to apply in the game:
1. Every student will have their own turn to get one stack out and answer a question, in this occasion I use ‘make it a better sentence’ practice.
2. If they can answer or make the sentence better they will have one point, but if the cannot answer or make the sentence better they will lose their chance to get a point.
3. The next student will get a stacko out as well and can try to correct the mistake, which the first student cannot make it, or take a new question to gain a point.
4. For the last student who accidentally make the stacko fall won’t get a point even though s/he can answer the question well.
5. The winner will be determined based on how many scores you can get.
